CLEWISTON, FL – Qualifier #4 of the 2025 Roland Martin Marine Center Series presented by HUK takes us into fall with one more qualifier to go before it’s Championship time. Even on a tough day, Lake Okeechobee puts out quality that the rest of the country can only dream about. And Big Bass and Big Checks is what this series is about.
On October 4th, 100 teams set out with the threat of a storm off the East Coast deciding not to crash the party. It’s qualifier #4 of the 2025 season, and unlike mother nature, the Okeechobee bass are always up for a party.
The top bag of the day came in at 25-pounds and put the winning check in the hands of Kyle Powers and Matt Burch. Past RMMC Classic winners, they are no strangers to getting it done on Lake Okeechobee.
“We ran up North to get out of the wind,” Powers said. “We ended up flipping the usual brown and blue combinations that worked.”
“We had two 7-pounders right away in the morning,” Burch noted. “Then we culled a few times and knew we had a pretty good bag.”
It turned out to be plenty good. Their flipping good day resulted in a total of 25.98 pounds, earning them the winning check for $4,680.
With a little over 21 pounds, the team of Terry Metzger and Ron Roker brought 21.08 pounds to the stage for second place a check for $2,300.
Rounding out the top three was the power team of Robert Haff and Gerry Califano. Their limit weighing 19.75 pounds gave them the 3rd place finish and a payday of $1,500.
As the highest paying team tournament trail in Florida, the payouts continued deep into the field.
Along with their winning check, Powers and Burch also collected $150 in Bruiser Bucks for the Mega Bag of the event and $250 as the highest finishing Mercury owner. Ron Roker collected $250 as the highest finisher to cross the stage in HUK GEAR. With the biggest bass of the event coming in at 8.55 pounds, U.S. Sugar awarded Brandon Medlock $500. 2nd Big Bass of 8.40 pounds belonged to Ray Guerra earning him $100 Gambler Bucks. Ken Willis collected $250 as the highest finishing Gilbert Chevrolet owner. Coming in as the highest Lady Angler, Brittany Edwards took home a new pair of Bajio Sunglasses. As the highest finishing youth angler, Dawson Mizell also collected a pair of Bajio Sunglasses. And winning big for going small, the team of Kleman and Powell turned the smallest limit of 6.78 pounds into $300 from AV Inspection.
That’s a wrap on Qualifier #4. Be sure to join us for the final Qualifier November 8th and 9th. Then it’s on to the Championship where the winning team could possibly take home a record $50,000. We’ll see you then.
